DIY Light Table

I love light tables, there are so many wonderful and exciting activities you can do with them! I have seen posts of light tables being created from a table but I wanted to make my own that is light, easy to store away and doesn't take up too much room.

It only takes 3 items and 5 minutes! Amazing right? So simple to put together, so I took photos along the way to share with you all.

First, you will need a storage container (preferably clear top and bottom), white tissue paper and a string of lights.

Then measure the lid and cut the tissue paper so it will fit tightly. Then sticky tape it to the inside of the lid. (Be sure to use clear sticky tape).

Next place your lights inside the box. I used battery operated lights so there isn't a cord hanging out of the box to plug into a wall.

And your all done!! How simple is that?!

Now off to google some exciting activities! Miss 3 wanted to get straight into it once she saw it so we placed some purple rice on top and moved it around, making shapes. (This was her favourite)

Then I took the tissue paper out of the lid and drew some numbers so it would shine through the lid. I added some princess gems and it turned into a great counting activity!

Have fun creating!
